Soil Stabilization
Soil Stabilization is the permanent physical and chemical alteration of soils to enhance their physical properties.
Stabilization can increase the shear strength of a soil and/or control the shrink/swell of that soil, improving the load bearing capacity of a sub-grade to support structures or pavements.
Stabilization with a wide variety of chemical additives, including lime, cement, lime kiln dust, cement kiln dust, calciment, and fly ash can be used to treat and modify a wide range of sub-grade materials from expansive clays to granular materials.
Benefits of RHI Soil Stabilization
- Elimination of excavation, material handling and the hauling in of materials
- Aids in compaction
- Provides access onto and within project sites in all kinds of weather
- Reduction in plasticity
- Lower permeability
- Reduction of pavement thicknesses
